FOUR SEASON PROTECTION
A chimney without a cap allows moisture from rain and snow to be absorbed into your the inner flue tile, outer bricks and mortar. When this trapped moisture goes through a freeze/thaw cycle, the integrity of the chimney’s structure becomes compromised, creating a safety hazard. Home heating and cooling costs can escalate when a proper damper is not installed, allowing air to escape through the chimney flue. At the same time, wildlife, insects and debris can create further hazards inside an uncovered chimney flue. The Seal Tight Damper seals out rain, snow, and sleet while sealing in “paid” heat and air conditioning. In its closed position, it is virtually invisible from the ground. The stainless steel and cast-aluminum design ensures that it won’t rust or stain your chimney. The Seal Tight Damper doesn’t require a chimney fire safety device, cutting costs and saving time! Designed with a two part, high-tech gasket system, this damper provides an extremely effective air tight seal by utilizing a liquid gasket, which hardens to form an efficient seal. The primary gasket sits in a channel inside the damper frame, while the secondary, liquid gasket, sits underneath the front portion of the damper lid. These two gaskets provide the most efficient seal possible!

SEAL TIGHT Chimney Dampers are made for use only with open wood burning masonry fireplace chimneys and are NOT suitable for use in the following types of installations:
- Don’t use on chimneys serving vented gas logs. Vented gas logs require the fireplace damper to be removed completely or fixed to a permanently open position, this is to assure that soot , fumes and carbon monoxide do not enter your home.
- Use only on vent-free gas logs if approved by the appliance manufacturer and the local authority having jurisdiction. However, we don’t recommend it because the moisture generated from the gas logs could damage the chimney structure.
- Don’t use on chimneys serving other fuels, wood stoves or other appliances such as inserts, furnaces, etc.
Installation Information
SEAL TIGHT Dampers can be installed by homeowners who feel comfortable working on a roof, but U.S. Fireplace Products, Inc. strongly recommends you use the services of a qualified chimney sweep who can also inspect your chimney and provide other valuable home safety services.
The SEAL TIGHT damper attaches to the top of the flue tile on fireplace chimneys. Our models are sized by common flue tiles and available in 7 Sizes:
- 8″ X 8″ Fits inside flue from 7″ X 7″ up to 9″ X 9″
- 8″ X 17″ Fits inside flue from 7″ X 15″ up to 9″ X 17″
- 9″ X 13″ Fits inside flue from 7″ X 12″ up to 9″ X 13″
- 12″ X 16″ Fits inside flue from 10″ X 13″ up to 12″ X 16″
- 13″ X 13″ Fits inside flue from 10″ X 10″ up to 13″ X 13″
